The Bachelor´s degree in Mathematics is a program in the area of exact sciences. The course aims to train future researchers and higher education teaching staff in the area of Mathematics and related areas. In addition, the skills and competencies acquired throughout the program prepare you to occupy positions in the job market outside the academic environment and provide you with: a solid background in Pure Mathematics, which allows graduates to follow graduate studies (Master's and Doctorate) in the best institutions in the country; a strong background in Applied Mathematics, in Physics and training in the area of computing that allows you to use the computer as a working tool; ability to use your knowledge in an innovative way, following the continuous evolution of science and contributing to the search for solutions in different areas of applying Mathematics.

WHAT WILL YOU STUDY?

Mathematics! Seriously, you will see mathematical theories and their applications, you will do courses in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Calculus, Algebra and Geometry. If you choose this course, from the second semester, you will have to opt for either the Bachelor´s Degree or Bachelor´s degree in Education. Hence, those who do the Bachelor´s degree will go into more depth in the mathematical universe, studying more algebra, calculus, analysis, partial differential equations, among other courses.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

You could pursue an academic career and become a lecturer and researcher, teaching at universities. However, if you prefer to have a career in business, you could work with mathematical tools to solve problems in the areas of finance and logistics, for example in industries, banks and finance.
