Abstract: We study Iterated Function Systems with probabilities (IFSp) on a compact metric space. We establish sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of a metric (preserving the topology) that makes an IFSp contractive on average. In particular, we focus on IFSp formed by homeomorphisms on the circle. In this case, we establish sufficient and necessary conditions to allow the existence of such a metric. This is a joint work with Katrin Gelfert.
