Resumo:  In this work, we investigate approximations of ill-posed linear evolution equations of third order in time, governed by fractional powers. We provide explicit calculations of the fractional powers of matrix operators associated with these equations and identify the exponent values that transform the original problem into a well-posed one. This summary is part of my doctoral thesis and the article titled "Fractional Powers Approach of Operators for Abstract Evolution Equations of Third Order in Time," co-authored with Flank D. M. Bezerra and published in the Journal of Differential Equations.
