The International Workshop on Singularities in Geometry and Applications is a biennial itinerant workshop on Singularity Theory, with a special emphasis on its geometrical aspects and applications.

The first edition was organized by María del Carmen Romero Fuster and the Singularity Research Group at the Universitat de València. At that time, areas such as Generic Geometry, Singularities of Caustics and Wavefronts, and their applications to fields like computer vision and robotics were experiencing significant growth. The workshop provided an essential platform for researchers to discuss these topics.

Over the years, this event has become a key gathering for the singularities community. Many major advancements in the geometric aspects of singularities have been presented at these workshops. In addition, other areas, such as Bi-Lipschitz Geometry of Singularities and metric homology and homotopy theories, have seen substantial progress in recent years. The importance of this workshop as a meeting place to exchange ideas and foster collaboration has only grown.

The 8th International Workshop on Singularities in Geometry and Applications will take place in São Carlos, Brazil, from June 29 to July 4, 2025.
