The Mini-Workshop on Singularities, Geometry, and Differential Equations is a scientific meeting organized by the Singularities Group of São Carlos every two years, with its first edition held in 1997. Since the 10th edition, it has been organized outside Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e de Computação da Universidade de São Paulo (Institute of Mathematical and Computer Sciences of the University of São Paulo, ICMC-USP) in São Carlos, with the aim of introducing the research area of Singularity Theory to other states and regions of Brazil. The 10th edition took place in the Northeast region, in Fortaleza, Ceará, in 2015; the 11th edition was held in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, in 2017; and the 12th edition took place in Vitória, Espírito Santo, in 2019.
This is the first edition of the event after the pandemic, and we are delighted to resume this gathering, providing a space for researchers and students to exchange ideas and strengthen collaborations in the field. In this 13th edition, the event returns to the city of São Carlos as a joint event between the Universidade Federal de São Carlos and the Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e de Computação da Universidade de São Paulo (Institute of Mathematical and Computer Sciences of the University of São Paulo, ICMC-USP).
We will also have a special tribute to Jean-Paul Brasselet on the occasion of his 80th birthday, celebrating his contributions to the field of Singularity Theory and his influence on the mathematical community.
